Only Ashley Longshore could throw a party that feels equal parts gallery show, fashion gathering, and tequila-fueled summer send-off. The pop art powerhouse returned to the Hamptons this past weekend, hosting an unforgettable Sag Harbor soirée alongside legendary designer Donna Karan. The setting? A sweeping Sagaponack estate belonging to Sean McClenahan and Michael McGraw, which Longshore promptly turned into a glittering art playground.

Inside, guests wandered through rooms alive with her latest works, including a brand-new collection of cheeky monkey paintings—appropriately titled Please Keep Your Dick Off the Furniture—hung alongside some of her most beloved bestsellers. The estate doubled as a gallery, while outside, guests spilled into the gardens, sipping Casa Dragones cocktails as the sun set. It was less your typical Hamptons cocktail party, more a bold declaration that art can (and should) be fun.

The crowd, an eclectic mix of collectors, fashion insiders, and boldface names, included Deborra-Lee Furness and Fern Mallis, who joined in to toast Longshore’s irreverent take on pop culture. And while the event was decidedly about summer fun, it also reinforced something bigger: Ashley Longshore has become one of the defining voices in contemporary art by rewriting the rules.

This latest Hamptons pop-up follows a whirlwind year that’s taken her from a splashy debut at Miami Art Week, to a buzzy Nashville residency, to an appearance at NYC’s international FOCUS Art Fair. It’s not just the work that draws attention—Longshore herself, with her unstoppable personality and unapologetic humor, is a force. A self-taught Southern-born artist who built her own pop art empire without the traditional gallery system, she’s proof that making your own lane can sometimes be the best career move.

Her global following (nurtured early on through social media, long before it became standard practice) has only expanded with each bold move. She’s collaborated with everyone from Gucci to Porsche to Judith Leiber Couture, authored four books with Rizzoli, and made history as the first female artist to land a solo exhibit at Bergdorf Goodman. Collectors range from Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively to Salma Hayek and Diane von Furstenberg—but her work’s appeal is just as strong with the next generation scrolling Instagram.

As for what’s next, Longshore is keeping the momentum going. Private appointments will continue in Sagaponack through the weekend, before her works move into a New York City storefront this fall for a months-long pop-up. If her Sag Harbor soirée was any indication, the upcoming season promises plenty more of what makes Ashley Longshore such a singular figure: fearless art, unapologetic humor, and a whole lot of fun.
