If you thought W Hotels was already a vibe, wait until you see what they’ve done with their flagship in Union Square. After a jaw-dropping $100 million makeover, the hotel is officially back—and it’s exactly the kind of spot you’ll want to add to your New York bucket list. It’s bold, it’s stylish, and somehow manages to feel both luxe and totally laid-back.

The launch party was seriously star-studded. Michelle Williams, Jane Krakowski, Moses Sumney, Toro y Moi, Ella Emhoff, Hari Nef, Richie Shazam, Lucien Laviscount, Slick Rick, and plenty more from the city’s art, music, and fashion circles all came through to celebrate. The night kicked off with a cozy dinner at Seahorse, John McDonald’s new seafood haven, where guests sampled coastal dishes and signature cocktails. After dinner, the Living Room turned into the place to be, with Toro y Moi spinning tunes and everyone soaking in the effortlessly cool vibe.

The hotel’s design takes major inspiration from NYC’s architecture, with nods to Grand Central’s grandeur but in a sleek, modern way. High ceilings, intricate moldings, and playful touches throughout create spaces that are as beautiful as they are inviting. It’s not trying to scream “luxury”, it’s whispering it, in the best possible way.

What’s most refreshing about the space is how approachable it feels. It’s the kind of spot where you can hang with friends, make new ones, or just kick back and enjoy the atmosphere without feeling like you need to impress anyone. Whether you’re stopping by for a drink or booking a room, it’s all about making memories, and looking fabulous while doing it.

With this reimagining, W Hotels proves it’s still leading the way in hospitality that’s not about showing off but about feeling good. If you’re in the city, this is definitely one to check out. It’s bold, it’s beautiful, and it’s exactly the kind of effortless cool you didn’t know you needed.
