The Country Music Association announced the news ahead of the show, confirming that Gill will also be honored with a special live tribute performance during the broadcast.
“Vince embodies the very best of what Country Music stands for,” said CMA CEO Sarah Trahern. “He’s a true trailblazer who continues to share his talent and give back to the community.”
A member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Gill has released 20 albums, sold over 30 million records, and charted 45 singles across his five-decade career.
The Oklahoma native’s legacy includes 22 GRAMMY Awards, 18 CMA Awards, and a record-setting four wins for Song of the Year. His breakout single, “When I Call Your Name,” remains one of the genre’s most enduring classics.
Beyond his solo success, Gill has lent his voice and guitar to The Eagles, Pure Prairie League, and The Time Jumpers, proving his unmatched influence across genres.
This year marks a milestone as he celebrates 50 years in music, alongside the release of his new EP series 50 Years From Home, with the first chapter, I Gave You Everything I Had, now out on MCA Records.
