Guillermo del Toro’s long-awaited Frankenstein got a starry Los Angeles moment last night as Margot Robbie made a surprise appearance to moderate a special screening at Netflix’s Tudum Theater.

The audience got an intimate deep dive into the filmmaker’s sweeping, emotional retelling — with Oscar Isaac (Victor Frankenstein), Jacob Elordi (The Creature) and Mia Goth (Elizabeth) joining del Toro onstage.

The group dissected everything from the film’s Arctic-set opening to its operatic questions about what makes something human — or monstrous. Isaac spoke about Victor’s obsessive descent, Elordi highlighted the Creature’s painful yearning for connection, and del Toro emphasized how the story remains “a mirror we still recognize ourselves in.”
