If you’ve been scrolling through Instagram reels, TikTok loops, or even casually shopping online and thought, “Wait… who are these insanely talented dancers?”, you’re not alone. Meet Katseye, the Los Angeles-based girl group that’s rewriting the rules of pop stardom. With choreography that slaps harder than your morning coffee and a style that screams Y2K cool, these girls aren’t just dancing, they’re taking over.

So, Who Are They?

Formed through the 2023 reality competition Dream Academy, a slick collab between Hybe and Geffen Records, Katseye’s journey feels like something straight out of a Netflix binge. Auditions, grueling training, and real talk moments were all chronicled in Popstar Academy: Katseye, where viewers got an up-close look at how this group of multitalented performers came together.

Their debut single, Debut, dropped in June 2024, followed by Touch, a breakout track that set the tone for their fearless energy. By April 2025, Gnarly stormed the charts, earning them their first Billboard Hot 100 entry. Fast forward to June, their EP Beautiful Chaos debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200. Not bad for a group that only just hit the scene.

What Makes Them So Popular?

Let’s be honest, Katseye is more than just music. Their appeal is a whole vibe. They fuse athletic precision with style-forward moves, pulling inspiration from early-2000s fashion trends like low-rise jeans and oversized accessories. Their choreography is high-energy but effortlessly cool, a perfect storm for viral content. Plus, they wear their identities loud and proud, embracing individuality, culture, and self-expression without hesitation. It’s no wonder fans everywhere are obsessed.

How Did They Get Here So Fast?

It’s a mix of strategy, talent, and timing. Streaming platforms amplified their choreographed clips, while collaborations with brands made them pop culture’s new darlings. Their creative director, Humberto Leon, plays into broad influences and uses the group’s diverse backgrounds to craft a global image. Throw in partnerships across industries, from fashion houses to beauty brands, and Katseye’s rise feels inevitable. They just get it.

The Commercials That Sealed the Deal

Katseye didn’t just stop at music. They’ve made themselves the face of major campaigns that are as visually striking as their dance moves.

Gap – “Better in Denim” (Fall 2025)

Their Gap campaign is basically a movement disguised as an ad. Dancing to a fresh take on Kelis’ Milkshake, they champion individuality and retro style with effortless swagger. It’s bold, playful, and insanely watchable.

Fendi – “Fendi For Yourself”

For Fendi’s 100th anniversary, they slayed it in a campaign celebrating the brand’s iconic bags. Elegant, luxe, and unapologetically fierce.

Glossier – “Get Ready With Me”

Beauty routines, product recommendations, and personality-packed charm, Katseye made skincare and makeup feel personal and fun.

Urban Outfitters – Vinyl Drop & Live Event

Their exclusive neon vinyl and live UO Haul performance proved that their appeal spans both digital fandoms and in-person events.

Pandora – Custom Charms Collection

They put their personal flair into each charm, blending meaningful design with brand storytelling.

Lush – Bath Bombs & Soaps

This collab brought their aesthetic to self-care, proving they’re not just performance artists, they’re lifestyle icons.

Jollibee – Merchandise Collaboration

Fast food meets pop culture in a fun, unexpected partnership that speaks to their global reach.

In just two years, Katseye has transformed from reality show hopefuls into dance-floor legends and brand collaborators who know how to turn a campaign into a cultural moment. Whether it’s on your screen, in your feed, or on shelves, they’re here, they’re dancing, and they’re not going anywhere anytime soon.

If you haven’t already—catch them before the rest of the world does.
